About Me
Kenneth W. Moffett is currently a senior data scientist at Fors Marsh, specializing in causal inference, time series and panel data analysis. He received his B.A. in political science (with a minor in economics) from California State University, Fresno in 2000. He received his M.A. in 2001, and his Ph.D. in 2006 from The University of Iowa in political science. Prior to joining Fors Marsh, he served as a Professor of Political Science and Chair at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Dr. Moffett has coauthored Web 2.0 and the Political Mobilization of College Students (2016), The Political Voices of Generation Z (2022), and Strategic Responsiveness: How Congress Confronts Presidential Power (2025). His research has been funded by the Department of Homeland Security and has been published in American Politics Research, Climatic Change, Environment and Behavior, Journal of Health Communication, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Party Politics, Preventive Medicine, Social Science Computer Review, Vaccine, and others. He has written essays that have appeared in The Washington Post, The Hill, The Huffington Post, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the Edwardsville Intelligencer. Dr. Moffett has provided analysis and commentary for numerous broadcast and print media outlets including C-SPAN3, National Journal, National Public Radio, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, KSDK, KMOV, KMOX, and KTVI.
He and his wife, Grete, currently live in the greater New York City area. Together, they enjoy traveling the United States and the world, going to musicals, and hiking. In his spare time, Moffett roots for the Fresno State Bulldogs, Iowa Hawkeyes, the San Francisco Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers. He is also an avid baker, photographer, and reader.
